What is driving it
The rush follows the wider interest in AI names that has pushed .ai prices up all year. Buyers looking for a short, AI-flavoured name that is still available at a reasonable price have started reading .si as "superintelligence". Demand has been intense enough that, according to DomainGang, several buyers tried to buy the same .si name on Atom at the same moment.
Which .si names have value
The sales so far share a pattern: short dictionary words, well-known place or brand-style words, and names that read naturally with "superintelligence" or "AI" in mind. Long phrases, hyphenated names and random letter strings on .si are no more valuable than on any other country extension. If your name would be worth little as a .com, the .si version is very unlikely to be worth more.
The risks
Trend-driven demand can fade quickly.
